Supported by: Kenneth Gibson*, Bill Kidd*, Stewart Stevenson*, Mark McDonald*, Sandra White* *S5M-21598 Sandra White: Sikhs in Scotland Supporting Communities—That the Parliament acknowledges the outstanding contribution from Sikhs in Scotland in supporting communities across Scotland, including in the Glasgow Kelvin constituency, with the establishment of the Sikh Food Bank; understands that it has delivered over 20,000 meals across Glasgow, Edinburgh, Dundee and Aberdeen, as well as food packs for families and individuals, which include a variety of essential groceries; notes that it is also offering to collect and deliver shopping for people shielding in the community; believes that the impact of this entirely voluntary contribution, which was mobilised by Charandeep Singh, has ensured that many people, including key workers across in public services, are being supported; notes that the Sikh Food Bank also offers advice and support to those in hard-to-reach communities understand what they need to do in order to stay safe, through a multi-lingual interpretation service, and applauds and thanks everyone involved in the Sikh Food Bank who have mobilised and provided support during the COVID-19 outbreak.
