I was brought up with “Trumpton”, “Multi-Coloured Swap Shop”, “Blue Peter” and many more BBC programmes. Now, we can turn on the television and watch live sport every day, yet I remember the excitement of watching the Scottish cup and the FA cup live on television and of six nations rugby matches and cricket being brought to us by the BBC.
