Scottish Child Payment Joseph Rowntree Foundation Submission

Modelling work undertaken by JRF and a number of other organisations shows that the targeting and non-capped nature of the SCP boost its effectiveness (Whyte et al., 2023; Congreve, 2023; JRF & Save the Children, 2022; Birt & Milne, 2021). However, the level of payment is not currently sufficient to reach the interim or 2030 child poverty targets in the current context (JRF & Save the Children, 2022).
