Willowacre Trust provide free support services to WSHA tenants and the wider community including energy and money advice, handyperson, upcycling and digital literacy services and manage a large community centre, Barrowfield Community Hub.
A programme for the day is in development, but we’d anticipate the visit beginning at 10am with a tour of the village and an opportunity to speak to tenants, then a lunch break on site followed by discussions in the afternoon.
Responses were received from 18 organisations, including local authorities, housing associations, professional bodies, tenants’ groups, RAAC campaigners, and individuals.
In addition to correspondence and updates, respondents noted visits, one-to-one meetings with tenants, dedicated email addresses for enquiries and RAAC specific webpages and FAQs.

Any approach must, insofar as possible, provide long-term certainty to tenants, landlords and investors. The absence of long-term certainty has significantly undermined the effectiveness of the private rental sector and it is essential that this Bill provides long-term certainty.
Screen Machine (Funding) To ask the Scottish Government whether it has plans to engage with Regional Screen Scotland regarding its call for funding for a new Screen Machine vehicle, in light of concerns that a lack of funding could lead to the end of the service.
The Committee has agreed to do some work before that legislation is introduced to understand the key issues for tenants and landlords. As part of that work the Committee will also reflect on the impact of the provisions of the Cost of Living (Tenant Protection) (Scotland) Bill.
To mark International Human Rights Day on 10 December 2016 members, with the Parliament's outreach service, visited Thornlie Primary School in Wishaw, North Lanarkshire and Westfield Primary School, West Lothian and worked with the pupils to enable them to build their confidence to give evidence to the Committee.
We need more officers out on the ground to visit these people. Housing officers come and visit them but I am getting stories that officers are quite aggressive with people.
