Budget Scrutiny 2025 2026

The Government was not able to provide this in 2023/24 given wider budget pressures and therefore provided £13.2 million in 2024/25 covering the National Lottery Shortfall funding for 2023/24 along with the £6.6m for 2024/25. From 2025/26 this £6.6 million is base lined in the CS multiyear funding budget.

VisitScotland’s new, two–year strategy, announced on 12th October, will see a significant increase in the number of ways that our visitors will be able to access information on places to visit and stay, with a mix of industry partners and digital products sitting alongside 26 key VisitScotland iCentres in busy locations.

Further to Parliament’s approval of the 2025-26 Scottish Budget on 25 February 2025, the Scottish Government has been engaging closely with NHS boards to support the allocation of resource for new specialist support for Long COVID, Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (ME)/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS) and other similar conditions.Boards told us that having funding only for a single financial year would be a barrier to their ability to develop new support.
