Whilst it is probable the EU27 are likely to say yes to an extension - the European Commission must ensure it has the time for Joint Committee talks after internal EU27 talks have taken place.
Since Friday, I have made it very clear that the independence option is very much on the table—it has to be on the table—but it is not my starting point. My starting point is how we best protect Scotland’s position.
