NESTRANS were successful in the latest round of the Local Rail Development Fund (LRDF) and will be taking forward an appraisal in respect of cross-Aberdeen rail travel which includes consideration of new stations South of Aberdeen.
Many welcomed the reintroduction of the bus infrastructure fund for 2025-26, although the Confederation of Passenger Transport Scotland argued that, with any financial support that is provided to Scotland’s local transport authorities, all options should be considered with a view to meeting local needs.
In other words, although we very much have a visit focus, we are also focusing in a wider sense on Scotland as a country and a destination where people can live, visit and work.
Moving on, minister, can you provide the committee with the latest position on upcoming LCMs, particularly any that are likely to engage the committee’s remit?
