To ask the Scottish Government what its position is on the Scottish Sentencing Council’s Sentencing Young People guideline, which is due to come into force on 26 January 2022. S6O-00663
I do not see what the Government is going to say to people in Caithness and others who might have to travel four hours in labour to get to a maternity hospital in Aberdeen or Perth.
As time allows, the Committee will consider whether to launch any new inquiries.
The Convener of the Committee was honoured to meet with international delegations from Zambia and Malawi who visited the Scottish Parliament to discuss the Committee's approach to post-legislative scrutiny (PLS) as part of a wider visit to the UK sponsored by the Westminster Foundation for Democracy.
Sometimes, we get no engagement whatsoever. So far, in relation to engagement on the Subsidy Control Bill, it has been difficult to get that information.
As the range of areas being covered in the latest round of negotiations show, if a new agreement is to be as deep and comprehensive as both sides have indicated they wish, then meaningful progress will need to be made soon if the target of agreement by the end of the year is to be achieved.
