My understanding—Jess Dolan will correct me if I am wrong—is that a top slice of a sort has been retained for 2025-26, which is to cover any residual costs that are incurred in winding up the regional body.
Professor Stephen Mayson at University College London has since published a report on England and Wales, where there was already further separation than in Scotland between the regulation and membership bodies and, interestingly, he has now gone on to recommend total separation. More recently, we had a visit from Professor Ron Paterson of New Zealand.

The SPS capital budget for 2024-25 was £192 million; for 2025-26 it will be £80 million; and—I have not done this in chronological order—for 2023-24 it is £97 million.

Data in relation to the Young Patients Family Fund is not routinely published however, latest information for 2022-23 shows that 8,415 claims were submitted under YPFF and that this equated to 3,740 young inpatients being claimed for.
They chose to continue the good work of David Livingstone, and I know that the Scottish Government will want to do the same.15:26 I, too, welcome the minister to his new role and congratulate him on his first speech in the Parliament in that role.
