The COPFS's evidence did not comment directly on how it would respond to the increased cost and time pressure of prosecuting the new offence. In oral evidence, its representative, Anne Marie Hicks said that-

In relation to judicial training, the Cabinet Secretary told the Committee that training on domestic abuse forms part of a new sentencer's induction and that refresher training is available throughout a judge's career.
