The bill should include something about the need to consult equality groups and representative organisations—that would be very useful.Identifying and promoting best practice around the country is also important, but I do not know whether it is appropriate to spell that out in the bill.

In essence, the committee had to do what a number of child protection professionals have to do daily, which is to consider the evidence before them and take a decision that they believe to be in the best interests of children and young people.
I believe that there are health and financial benefits in going down the route that we suggest and we have done our best to put those benefits down on paper.

To ask the Scottish Executive what percentage of people registered unemployed were aged (a) 25 and under, (b) 26 to 35, (c) 36 to 45, (d) 46 to 55 and (e) over 55 in each year since 1990, broken down by parliamentary constituency.
