To ask the Scottish Executive how many new claimants have joined the unemployment claimant register between May 1997 and the latest date for which figures are available and between May 1999 and the latest date for which figures are available.
Moreover, it has not achieved the targets to answer all 999 calls within 10 seconds and 95 per cent of doctors' urgent calls within 30 seconds.Figure 7 on page 26 of the NAO report shows the service's varying performance throughout Scotland.
Is that difference discernible within individual establishments? Having visited Edinburgh prison recently, I know that there is a welcome development there, involving a move out of A hall and other areas to new build.
However, I would have thought that the reason why we should ask that the decision be made by mid-March at the latest would be to allow parliamentary scrutiny.
