The Code states the following in relation to ‘Gender reassignment discrimination and separate and single-sex services’: St Andrew’s House, Regent Road, Edinburgh EH1 3DG www.gov.scot 13.57 – If a service provider provides single or separate sex services for women and men, or provides services differently to women and men, they should treat transsexual people according to the gender role in which they present. 13.60 – … any exception to the prohibition of discrimination must be applied as restrictively as possible and the denial of a service to a transsexual person should only occur in exceptional circumstances.
The report recommended exploring the idea of maintaining the operation of the current station while building a replacement station on another site. Last year, it emerged that there are two potential council-owned sites in the area.
