A Fairer Scotland Impact Assessment (FSIA) looked at the additional initial outlay on ONS Household groups. This was both as a percentage of a grocery shop as well as a percentage of mean net income. The results can be found in the Annex A of the FSIA at:

The Scottish Government recognises and shares the music sector’s concern with the decision to reduce the breadth of cultural music programming on Radio Scotland. Certain musical forms, such as piping or jazz, are not traditionally thought of as mainstream musical offerings and it is essential that the BBC listens to the concerns of the music sector so that audiences are able to continue to enjoy pipe and jazz music on BBC Radio Scotland.

The Scottish Government maintains its strong commitment to young and establishing musicians, including through its long-standing investment of over £140m since 2007 in the Youth Music Initiative. This helps young people across Scotland to access music-making opportunities, and supports them to go on to careers in the music industry.

The Scottish Government will continue to press the BBC to deliver on its commitments to commission high-quality, distinctive Scottish output, including in relation to music.

There are no plans to purchase artwork in 2023.

Officials meet regularly with Diabetes Scotland in order to identify areas of shared interest and opportunities for collaboration. Representatives from Diabetes Scotland sit on the Scottish Diabetes Group (SDG) and its sub-groups.

The Scottish Government has funded the ALLIANCE to develop a network of people living with diabetes. The experience of people within this network is key to the success of implementing the Diabetes Improvement Plan.

People living with diabetes are represented on SDG sub-groups and are co-producing specific pieces of work such as the diabetes education pathways and prescribing guidelines.

As part of the Scottish Diabetes Group (SDG), we have an inpatient sub-group, with a focus on improving diabetes care in hospitals.

The inpatient group, with support from the SDG, will carry out a national inpatient audit this year. The purpose of the audit is to review the diabetes care currently being provided in hospitals The data will also highlight any areas for improvement and help NHS Boards to make any necessary improvements to the care and treatment of people living with diabetes in hospitals.

Healthcare Improvement Scotland’s professional education toolkit ‘Think, Check, Act’ has also been reviewed and was updated in December 2022. We are continuing to work with NHS Boards, NHS Education for Scotland and other key stakeholders to embed Diabetes ‘Think, Check, Act’ modules into healthcare professional education to ensure that people with diabetes have access to the best possible care and treatment whilst they are in hospital.

The use of MS Ambition was always intended to be a temporary measure and the contact will end on 31 March. Our Priority now is on moving people safely from the ship and towards longer-term accommodation. As part of the joint Glasgow City Council-Scottish Government ‘Disembarkation Strategy’, the council is leading a regional approach with neighbouring authorities to maximise the number of suitable volunteer hosts and social housing opportunities for guests on board. Where a guest refuses a host or social housing offer or where there is no suitable alternative they will be allocated further welcome accommodation before the closure of MS Ambition. However, this may be in a different part of Scotland.

The Scottish Government does not have an art collection. A number of artworks are owned by Scottish Government, the majority have been gifted to Ministers over time. Approximately 100 art works, prints and maps of varying individual values with an overall insurance value of approximately £62,000. This valuation excludes the portrait of the Earl of Bute on loan to National Gallery of Scotland.

• Watershed by Will Maclean on display in Victoria Quay ground floor rotunda
• Female Face by Jenna Davidson in designated St Andrew’s House storage room
• I Went Fishing by Karen Bauld in designated St Andrew’s House storage room

Scottish Government buildings also have a series of lower value originals, prints and maps on display. This includes a small number of prints and artworks gifted to Ministers over time.
