Parliamentary questions can be asked by any MSP to the Scottish Government or the Scottish Parliamentary Corporate Body. The questions provide a means for MSPs to get factual and statistical information.

  • Written questions must be answered within 10 working days (20 working days during recess)
  • Other questions such as Topical, Portfolio, General and First Minister's Question Times are taken in the Chamber

To ask the Scottish Government, in the event of the establishment of an independent or fully devolved energy market, what assessment it has made of any legal and financial liabilities regarding existing 15- and 20-year Contracts for Difference agreements entered into by Scottish generators with the UK-owned Low Carbon Contracts Company, and whether any such liabilities would be transferred entirely to consumers in Scotland.
