Health Inequalities

This Cross-party group's purpose:

The group aims to raise awareness of the causes of health inequalities amongst parliamentarians to influence legislation and amongst policy makers to promote evidence based actions which reduce health inequalities and to avoid legislation and policies which will make health inequalities in Scotland worse.

Racialised Health Inequalities

This meeting will be chaired by co-convenor Paul O’Kane MSP and will explore the topic of Racialised Health Inequalities. We will explore the extent of health inequalities faced by different ethnic minority groups and the difference between race, racism and racialisation.

Melanie Weldon, Head of the Racialised Health Inequalities in Health and Social Care Team, Scottish Government.
