That the Parliament congratulates Mya Nathwani from Gourock on securing a place at the Scottish Space School; understands that the Clydeview Academy pupil is one of just 100, S5 pupils chosen from thousands across the country to attend the week-long programme, which, it understands is run by the University of Strathclyde’s engineering faculty in partnership with Wood Plc; further understands that the course includes contributions from NASA representatives, in addition to lectures and activities run by university staff; understands that the course usually offers young people the chance to visit NASA headquarters in Texas and to speak to astronauts in person, but due to continued COVID-19 restrictions, the programme will take place online in June 2022; further understands that as part of the application process, Mya came up with a filtration system, which converts dirty air particles into clean air particles to be accelerated and used to power vehicles; understands that Mya has thanked her teachers at Clydeview Academy and has ambitions of working for NASA and travelling to space, and hopes that her participation in the Scottish Space School will be a valuable experience.
