Congratulation to The Gate Charity on Its Tenth Anniversary

That the Parliament congratulates The Gate Charity on celebrating its tenth anniversary, 2011 to 2021; commends the charity, which is based in Alloa, for providing support to the most vulnerable in the Clackmannanshire area since its inception a decade ago; understands that the charity operates a number of different projects, including its Soup Pot project, which provides up to 40 people, twice-a-week, with free food, drinks, toiletries, warm clothing and small household goods, the Starter Pack project, developed to help those moving from homeless accommodation to first tenancies, and the Foodbank project, which provides fresh and non-perishable food to those facing hunger in the community; highlights the positive work of other community groups that operate from The Gate premises, including Books N Blether, Gig at the Gate Events, a meal delivery service to over-65s, and a Recovery Cafe that supports people who are recovering from addiction; commends the substantial support that The Gate Charity receives from within the community, and recognises the hard work of volunteers, trustees, staff and the invaluable contribution of supporters, donors and partners who are integral to allowing the charity to successfully operate; extends its very best wishes for the continued success of the charity, and hopes that everyone enjoys the upcoming celebration dinner.
