Metastatic Breast Cancer Audit

  • Submitted by: Katy Clark, West Scotland, Scottish Labour.
  • Date lodged: Friday, 29 October 2021
  • Motion reference: S6M-01814

That the Parliament believes that gathering accurate data on the prevalence of breast cancer that has spread to another part of the body, known as metastatic or secondary breast cancer, is vital to supporting NHS efforts to design and plan tailored support for patients; welcomes the news that NHS Wales has committed to joining the National Metastatic Breast Cancer Audit in England; notes what it sees as the Scottish Government’s commitments to improving data and working to collate new, or better use existing, data sources around secondary breast cancer in its 2016 strategy, Beating Cancer: Ambition and Action; asks the Scottish Government to provide an update on its progress in delivering these commitments, and urges the Scottish Government to implement a National Metastatic Breast Cancer Audit in Scotland.
