'That the Parliament commends the Orkney District Association of Young Farmers Clubs on their fundraising efforts for the Orkney Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Society; understands that they are raising money for the Orkney MS Society through various fun and inventive bale art displays; notes that hundreds of pounds have already been raised within the first few days of the online fundraiser launching; understands that Orkney has had the highest incidence rate of multiple sclerosis (MS) in Scotland, indeed one of the highest in the world, over the past decade, with an incidence rate of 17.51per 100,000 head of population in 2020; considers that the sanctioning of Ocrelizumab to treat early primary progressive MS in early 2020 was a major breakthrough in managing the symptoms of MS; believes that fundraising efforts, such as this, are invaluable for achieving further research breakthroughs, and to help support the delivery of care; thanks the work of the Orkney MS Society, and similar organisations, for the incredible support that they provide to patients and their families, and encourages all to support this fundraising effort.
