That the Parliament acknowledges the Glorious Twelfth of August, which is the official start of the grouse shooting season in Scotland; commends the hard work and dedication of Scottish gamekeepers in the face of this year’s challenging weather conditions; notes what it sees as the valuable and enduring contribution made by gamekeepers with respect to wildfire mitigation, habitat maintenance and confronting biodiversity loss; understands that findings of research commissioned by the Scottish Government revealing the widespread abuse of Scottish gamekeepers have still not been formally acted upon by ministers, and acknowledges the calls from the British Association for Shooting and Conservation to establish a working group to consider these findings without delay.
