Red Lion Pub, Culross

  • Submitted by: Claire Baker, Mid Scotland and Fife, Scottish Labour.
  • Date lodged: Thursday, 12 August 2021
  • Motion reference: S6M-00860

That the Parliament congratulates Tim Collins and the Red Lion Culross Community Group on raising £75,000 for a Community Share Offer to buy the Red Lion pub in the village; believes that the pub is vital to the area's economy, supports employment and offers respite to the many passing tourists who come to visit, including to see the set of popular TV show, Outlander; notes the importance of pubs to community life across Scotland as a hub of activity; wishes the project luck in its application to the Plunkett Foundation's programme, More Than a Pub, which was established to support community ownership of pubs, and hopes to see the Red Lion operating a successful model that delivers benefits to the community.
