Huntly Singer, Iona Fyfe, Shortlisted for Award

That the Parliament congratulates the singer, Iona Fyfe, on being one of five nominees shortlisted for the Folk Band of the Year title at the 2019 MG Alba Scots Trad Music Awards, which celebrate excellence in traditional music; recognises that Iona, who is from Huntly, has previously won the Scots Singer of the Year title and was the headliner at the 2019 Australian Celtic Festival, which was held in the summer; understands that she is very grateful for the nomination and has said that winning the title "would be a great boost"; notes that the awards will be presented at the Music Hall in Aberdeen on 7 December, and wishes Iona the best of luck.
