A Scottish First, CHAS Diana Nurse Awarded Queen’s Nurse Status

That the Parliament congratulates Caroline Porter, who is employed by Children’s Hospices Across Scotland (CHAS) and has been working from Robin House in Balloch and Diana Children’s Nurse for the West of Scotland, based in the Royal Hospital for Children Glasgow, on being selected earlier in 2018 to take part in a nine-month development programme run by the Queen’s Nursing Institute Scotland; understands that Caroline was nominated for bringing compassionate palliative care nursing expertise to babies, children and young people and their families; celebrates her achievement on being awarded the historic Queen’s Nurse title along with 20 other community nurses; notes that, two years ago, Caroline became the co-chair of the Scottish Children and Young Peoples’ Palliative Care Network and in that time she has chaired the development of national guidance on taking a child home after death and is part of a steering group to develop a new national managed clinical network, and wishes Caroline all the best for the future as she continues her life-changing work for children and their families across the country.
