That the Parliament congratulates Fraser Johnston, of Cycling Without Age (CWA) Falkirk, on winning the 2017 TSB Community Partner Pride of Britain award; notes that the Pride of Britain awards, which celebrate the achievements of remarkable people who make the world a better place, have been running since 1999 and sees the public nominate people and groups, with the shortlist judged by a panel of celebrated figures in national life; understands that the TSB-sponsored award recognises those who work together in partnership as a force for good in their community and improving the lives of people around them; believes that Fraser fully deserves being recognised for making a difference to the lives of older people and inspiring others to do so; notes that he received a standing ovation at the awards ceremony, which took place at Grosvenor House in London; recognises that this follows an incredible few days for Fraser, who was recently awarded the Community Champion prize at the Sunday Mail Great Scot Awards; understands that CWA, which was founded in Denmark, offers free cycle rides to residents in care homes to give the opportunity to experience the world from the seat of a trishaw, which is a type of rickshaw; believes that people such as Fraser, and his CWA/Communities Along the Carron partner, Christine Bell, are inspiring; wishes Fraser and Christine good luck with their plans to roll out CWA throughout Scotland; considers that CWA can make a real difference in communities across the world, and looks forward to many more care home residents throughout the Falkirk and Scotland experiencing the benefits of CWA in the months and years to come.
