That the Parliament congratulates the University of Aberdeen Vice-Principal, Professor Dame Anne Glover, on being elected President of the Royal Society of Edinburgh; recognises that Dame Anne first joined the University of Aberdeen in 1983, before being named the first Chief Scientific Adviser for Scotland in 2006 and then Chief Scientific Adviser to the President of the European Commission in 2012, following which she returned to Aberdeen as Vice Principal in 2015; understands that she will serve as President of the Royal Society of Edinburgh for three years from April 2018, after being elected to the post by fellow members of the organisation, and wishes her the best of luck in this prestigious and important role.
