The Food Train

  • Submitted by: Annie Wells, Glasgow, Scottish Conservative and Unionist Party.
  • Date lodged: Thursday, 31 August 2017
  • Motion reference: S5M-07422

That the Parliament acknowledges that the Food Train's Eat Well, Age Well scheme has been awarded £1.2 million by the Big Lottery Fund; notes that the charity, which works to prevent malnutrition among older people across the country, plans to address eating habits and establish a network that will incorporate care workers, volunteers and the Scottish Government; understands that, according to the charity, 10% of older people in Scotland are affected by malnutrition, and believes that, in the light of such figures, helping older people to eat well should be a main priority.
