That the Parliament congratulates the Elgin Rotary Club on its successful biennual Marafun event, which took place on 4 June 2017; understands that 76 teams of five runners took part this year, with each competitor covering 5.2 miles before handing over to a teammate, covering eight laps of the town centre; notes that all the money raised from the event will be split between 100 local charities, and that the last event in 2015 raised £46,000 with organisers hopeful of a similar amount this year once the final tally is done; further notes that over 200 volunteers helped to stage the event; congratulates the Moray Road Runners team, which completed the event in 2hr 26min 44sec, and sends its best wishes and thanks to Elgin Rotary Club for the sterling work that it does in the community.
