Celebrating a Successful Portgordon Fete

  • Submitted by: Douglas Ross, Highlands and Islands, Scottish Conservative and Unionist Party.
  • Date lodged: Tuesday, 30 May 2017
  • Motion reference: S5M-05844

That the Parliament congratulates the organisers of the Portgordon Fete on their successful event, which was held at the harbour green on 28 May 2017; understands that it was a day for the community and supporting local charities and good causes; further understands that there were craft stalls, jewellery displays, food and drink, as well as games for youngsters, with the organisers providing something for everyone who attended, including music throughout the afternoon from two young fiddlers, as well as members of the Buckie Pipe Band; praises the first-class event, which it considers demonstrated the enthusiasm in the village to pull together to put on the fete for residents and visitors and to support worthy local causes, and sends its best wishes to all involved in organising and running the fete.
