That the Parliament welcomes the announcement that Navantia UK has secured a second new vessel export contract for its Methil yard, creating 60 additional skilled jobs in the local area; understands that the new positions will include opportunities for experienced welders, platers, riggers, scaffolders and painters, building on the yard's long-standing reputation for skilled engineering and shipbuilding; notes that the announcement follows the successful completion of the Navantia UK Seahorse barge, which will support the delivery of the Fleet Solid Support programme for the Royal Fleet Auxiliary; welcomes the company's recent announcement of an additional £12 million investment in the Methil facility, bringing total investment since its acquisition in January 2025 to £26.7 million, which will support improved training facilities, modern machinery, infrastructure upgrades and new technology; recognises that the workforce has already grown from 180 to 275 employees under the company's ownership, alongside an apprenticeship programme currently supporting 75 apprentices; acknowledges the importance of continued investment in developing the next generation of skilled workers and preserving Methil's proud industrial heritage; commends Navantia UK, its management, workforce and trade unions for their commitment to securing the long-term future of the yard; recognises the positive impact that these developments will have on employment, skills and economic opportunities across Levenmouth and the wider Fife area, and wishes the company and its employees continued success as the yard expands its operations and secures further contracts.
