Linsey Drever Named Outstanding Scottish Community Link Worker

That the Parliament congratulates Linsey Drever from Orkney on winning the Outstanding Scottish Community Link Worker award at the 2026 Scottish Community Link Network Annual Conference and Awards, held in Edinburgh on 22 September 2026; understands that this award is given to an individual who has demonstrated the incredible impact that Community Link Workers have in addressing social inequalities and improving individual and community wellbeing; notes that Linsey works within Orkney's Community Link Practitioner Service, which is a partnership between NHS Orkney and Voluntary Action Orkney delivered within local GP practices; believes that through her work as a social prescriber in Orkney, Linsey has been an exceptional advocate for individuals struggling with housing insecurity, isolation, financial difficulties and other challenges and that she has helped to connect them with local support and resources that they might have otherwise been unaware of or found inaccessible given their personal circumstances; considers that Community Link Workers provide an invaluable service across communities in Scotland and that they are an essential part of local health and care networks; congratulates Linsey on this well-deserved recognition, and wishes her and all of Scotland's Community Link Workers the very best as they continue to deliver what it sees as this essential support within communities.
