That the Parliament notes with deep concern the latest National Records of Scotland figures showing that 1,133 people died from drug-related causes in 2025, an increase of 11% on the previous year; recognises the devastating impact these deaths have on families and communities; notes the continuing threat from cocaine and dangerous synthetic opioids, including nitazenes; commends the frontline workers, treatment services and community organisations working to save lives, and calls on the UK and Scottish governments to work together urgently to reduce drug-related deaths and ensure people affected by addiction can access timely treatment, recovery and harm-reduction support.
