  • Motion reference: S7M-01226

That the Parliament congratulates Anderson’s Primary School in Forres on the centenary of the building in which it is now based; recognises that the building originally opened as Forres Academy in September 1926 and subsequently welcomed generations of school pupils before becoming Anderson’s Primary School in 1971; acknowledges the central role the building has played in the educational and community life of Forres over the last 100 years, with generations of pupils, staff and families having passed through its doors and contributed to its rich history; appreciates that the school will open its doors to the public on 3 October 2026, giving visitors the chance to explore the building and share memories; notes the school’s ongoing appeal for photographs, stories and memorabilia to help create a detailed historical record for future generations; thanks all those involved in organising the centenary celebrations, and wishes Anderson’s Primary School, its pupils, staff, former pupils, and the wider Forres community every success as they celebrate this significant milestone.
