Lang Toun Fest Expands to Six Weeks for 2027

That the Parliament welcomes the announcement that Lang Toun Fest will return in 2027 with an expanded six-week programme, running from 4 June to 18 July; recognises the continued growth and success of the festival, which has developed into one of Kirkcaldy's largest and most diverse community celebrations; understands that the extended programme will create additional opportunities for local organisations, groups, venues, performers and residents to participate, while allowing the festival to extend into the opening weeks of the school summer holidays; notes that the 2027 programme will have a particular focus on music, arts, family activities and health and wellbeing, including live performances, exhibitions, creative workshops, outdoor activities and community initiatives; believes that the expansion of Lang Toun Fest will provide further opportunities to showcase the talent, culture, creativity and community spirit that exist across Kirkcaldy and the wider Fife area; recognises the potential for the extended festival to attract additional visitors to Kirkcaldy, support local businesses and venues and encourage people of all ages to participate in activities throughout the town; commends Lang Toun Partners, participating organisations, venues, volunteers and everyone involved in the continued development of the festival; considers that Lang Toun Fest demonstrates the important role that community-led events can play in bringing people together, supporting local culture and strengthening pride in Kirkcaldy, and wishes everyone involved every success as preparations continue for what it hopes will be the biggest Lang Toun Fest to date.
