That the Parliament welcomes the start of construction of the new tennis padel centre at Galashiels Academy; notes that the £3.8 million facility will deliver the first covered tennis courts in the Scottish Borders and is expected to open in early 2027; recognises the significant investment made through the Transforming Scottish Indoor Tennis Fund and Scottish Borders Council; acknowledges the thriving tennis community across the Borders, with 12 registered clubs and more than 1,500 playing members; believes that the new facility will increase participation in sport and support health and wellbeing for people of all ages and abilities, and wishes all those involved every success as work progresses.
