That the Parliament welcomes the visit of the Tour de France Grand Départ Trophy to Earlston during the Lloyds Tour of Britain Men finale on 6 September 2026; recognises the Scottish Borders' growing reputation as a world class destination for major sporting events; believes that such events provide significant opportunities to showcase the Borders to visitors from across the UK and beyond, supporting local businesses, tourism and community spirit; welcomes the 2027 Tour de France Grand Départ, which will bring one of the world's most prestigious sporting events to Scotland, and wishes all competitors every success.
