That the Parliament celebrates the eighth year of the Kirkcaldy Road Running Festival, which was designed to celebrate the town’s green spaces, promote health and wellbeing and bring people together through sport and shared experience; recognises that the event attracts around 1,000 runners, alongside their families and friends, drawing participants from across Fife, Scotland and the wider UK, welcoming people of all ages and abilities, from experienced athletes to first-time runners; notes that local support is central to its success with businesses, residents and community groups all playing an important role in creating a welcoming and vibrant atmosphere and helping to turn the event into more than just a race, but into a celebration of local pride; acknowledges the two-day event as something that has been run smoothly and safely since its beginnings and has a number of races including 5k and 10k trail races, family fun run, relay race, children's events such as the kids' fun run and the half marathon, which is set in Kirkcaldy’s network of parks, including Beveridge, Ravenscraig and Dunnikier parks; welcomes everyone attending to cheer on the runners, and encourages the children to join in with the events.
