That the Parliament congratulates FOUR PAWS on celebrating its 20th anniversary of international animal welfare work; recognises the significant contribution that the organisation has made over the past two decades to protecting vulnerable animals and improving animal welfare standards across the UK and internationally; recognises FOUR PAWS’ role in securing what it considers to be important animal welfare reforms in the UK, including stronger regulation of primate ownership through licensing, improved safeguards for pets sold online, commitments from major retailers to use cruelty-free feather and down, successful campaigns encouraging fashion brands to abandon fur, and measures to tackle the illegal importation of puppies, kittens and ferrets; notes that, between June 2006 and June 2026, FOUR PAWS has reportedly rescued 572 wild animals globally, providing them with lifelong sanctuary and specialist care; commends the dedication of the charity’s staff, volunteers, campaigners, veterinarians, supporters and donors whose commitment has transformed the lives of countless animals over the past 20 years; welcomes the organisation’s continued ambition to strengthen animal welfare through campaigns to end illegal puppy smuggling, the fur trade, and the global dog and cat meat trade; and wishes FOUR PAWS every success as it continues its work over the next 20 years.
