That the Parliament welcomes the decision to rename part of the world famous Barras Market in Glasgow's east end as "Maggie's Way" in honour of its founder, Margaret "Maggie" McIver; recognises what it sees as Maggie McIver's remarkable entrepreneurial vision in establishing what has become one of Scotland's most iconic and enduring markets, creating opportunities for generations of traders and contributing significantly to the social, cultural and economic life of Glasgow; acknowledges the Barras' unique place in Scotland's heritage as a symbol of enterprise and community spirit, attracting visitors from across the UK and beyond; welcomes efforts to celebrate and preserve the history of the Barras while supporting its continued regeneration and future prosperity; commends all those involved in establishing Maggie's Way and in promoting the rich heritage of the Barras Market, and hopes that this recognition will inspire future generations to appreciate the lasting legacy of Margaret McIver and the vital contribution that it believes the Barras continues to make to Glasgow's East End and Scotland's cultural identity.
