Celebrating 250 Years of Fochabers

That the Parliament celebrates the 250th anniversary of the village of Fochabers; recognises the village’s rich history and strong sense of community; understands that local businesses, volunteers and community groups have come together to organise an extensive programme of events throughout the summer to mark the milestone, including the Fochabers Challenge, heritage walks, talks, concerts and family activities celebrating the village’s history; commends the Fochabers Village Association for its organisation of the Fochabers Gala, which was held from 17 to 19 July 2026, including a special competition to recreate the famous Fochabers Gingerbread; notes that Speyfest will host an anniversary concert at Gordon Castle Estate on 29 August 2026 featuring a distinguished line-up of performers; congratulates all those involved in organising the anniversary programme, bringing people together and supporting local heritage, and wishes the people of Fochabers every success as they continue to celebrate this milestone
