Members of Scottish Fire and Rescue Service Provide Aid in Venezuela

That the Parliament commends the service and bravery of crew commander Ian Hodgson, firefighter Brian Richards and station commander Gavin Brown, who are members of the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service, as they depart for Venezuela to assist communities impacted by recent earthquakes; highlights the skill and experience that they bring to the international rescue mission, in particular their ability to provide technical expertise; understands that they will join colleagues from across the UK to form the UK International Search and Rescue Team, following a request from the Government of Venezuela, and extends appreciation to the entire team for their rescue and humanitarian efforts.
