That the Parliament recognises the work of Cumnock Juniors Community Enterprise’s walking football initiative in helping with the response to loneliness and social isolation by bringing older adults together for weekly sessions; believes that these sessions bring social connection and help the participants gain confidence, get fitter and boost their mental health; celebrates what it sees as the high level of camaraderie demonstrated by all taking part, and congratulates Cumnock Juniors on, it understands, being one of 52 organisations nationally to receive a share of over £1 million from the Scottish Government’s Social Isolation and Loneliness Fund.
