King’s Birthday Honours Across the City of Aberdeen

That the Parliament congratulates Myrtle Dawes, John McLeish and Allan Taylor on each being appointed an OBE, Dr Nicholas Richardson on being appointed an MBE and Shirley Henderson on being awarded a BEM in The King’s Birthday Honours List 2026; highlights their significant contributions to the City of Aberdeen across a wide range of specialities; understands that Myrtle has been recognised for services to energy and technology, John for services to heritage and the wider community in Aberdeenshire, and Allan for services to renewable energy; acknowledges that Nicholas has been recognised for services to energy security and the energy transition, and that Shirley, founder of the McGill School of Speech and Drama, has been recognised for services to drama; recognises the impact that each has made in their respective field, and thanks them for their service to the community.
