That the Parliament welcomes the launch of the Alcohol Focus Scotland and Alcohol Health Alliance report, A Clear Way Forward: The Case for Better Alcohol Labelling; notes its findings that one in five products do not meet the current minimum standards that are set out in the industry's self-regulatory framework, only 6.7% of products carry any health warning, specific warnings on cancer appear on just 1.3% of products and full ingredient lists appear on only 28% of products; understands that the report recommends a mandatory approach to alcohol labelling, the introduction of a rotating set of health warnings, including a cancer warning, as well as nutritional and calorie information; recognises that a four nations approach is needed to implement mandatory alcohol labelling standards and provide the public with the health information that they have a right to know, and calls on the Scottish Government to engage with the UK Government to ensure that it brings forward proposals for such mandatory standards.
