That the Parliament congratulates Netherlee and Stamperland Community Council on its Meadow in a Box initiative; notes that this was inspired by work undertaken by the Aberdeen City Council Countryside Ranger Service to encourage pollinators; understands that Netherlee and Stamperland Community Council is offering local residents, organisations and businesses the chance to receive a free wooden planter, compost and native wildflower seeds; recognises that the boxes have been built and delivered by East Renfrewshire Community Payback Scheme, with seeds funded by NatureScot; appreciates that the scheme has arisen as a response by the community council to a decline in native plants and the devastating knock-on effect on bees and butterflies; recognises that the scheme is aimed at increasing the number of patches of native wildflowers across the community in order to encourage pollinators to thrive; appreciates the great value in this scheme, and wishes Netherlee and Stamperland Community Council all the best with this important initiative.
