That the Parliament notes that, on 18 March 2026, St Laurence Church in Forres, Moray, was sold by the Church of Scotland to the St Laurence Forres Trust; understands that the group has ambitious plans to convert the iconic building on Forres High Street into an events venue; notes that generous donations from local individuals and businesses, as well as a grant from the Scottish Land Fund, allowed the trust to secure the venue; further notes that four churches have been built on this site dating back to 1275, with the current impressive building being 120 years old; commends the trust chairman, James Campbell, honorary president, Major General Seymour Monro, and everyone involved with the trust for their efforts to secure a positive future for St Laurence Church by creating this welcoming and vibrant hub for the community; understands that St Laurence will be a venue in the heart of Forres for music, arts and cultural events, while ensuring the beautiful building remains a home for weddings, funerals and other milestones, as it has been for centuries, and wishes St Laurence Forres Trust every success for the future.
