Glasgow Company Receives Funding to Develop AI Cancer Diagnostics

That the Parliament congratulates TileBio, a spin-out company from the University of Glasgow, on securing £1.6 million in investment to launch its AI technology that is learning the "language of cancer" to improve diagnosis and treatment; understands that this innovative system can study millions of medical images without needing human labels, making cancer detection faster and more accurate; recognises the work of Dr Christopher Walsh, Dr Ke Yuan, Dr Adalberto Claudio Quiros, Professor John Le Quesne and Professor David Chang in developing this cutting-edge technology; notes the support of investors, including Twin Path Ventures, Scottish Enterprise, and GU Holdings Ltd, which will help the company grow its team, train its AI models, and carry out clinical testing; acknowledges the partnership with NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde to use real clinical data safely, helping to detect cancer, discover new biomarkers, and improve treatments, and recognises that TileBio’s achievement strengthens Glasgow’s innovation sector, creates high-quality jobs, and highlights Scotland as a leader in AI-driven healthcare.
