That the Parliament congratulates Dollar Academy on being recognised for culinary excellence at the first Scottish School Food Awards; understands that the newly launched awards highlight outstanding catering standards within the education sector, shining a spotlight on school chefs and kitchen teams; believes that Dollar Academy's head chef, Artur Pohnke, was shortlisted in the Chef of the Year category, alongside chefs from across Edinburgh and Perthshire schools; notes that the academy was also shortlisted in the Foodservice Team of the Year category, and that judges commended the catering team’s commitment to developing menus with special dietary requirements in mind; considers that the purpose of the new awards is to highlight the importance of good nutrition and innovative approaches to school catering, focusing on how schools can inspire healthy eating habits among pupils; believes that the awards have also helped to raise the standard of school meals and to demonstrate the connection between high-quality foodservice, innovative nutritional initiatives and dedicated, experienced staff, and commends everyone involved on their sterling endeavours towards culinary excellence in schools.
