Recognising the Work of Independent Advocacy Perth and Kinross

  • Submitted by: Mark Ruskell, Mid Scotland and Fife, Scottish Green Party
  • Date lodged: Monday, 23 February 2026
  • Motion type: Standard Motion
  • Motion reference: S6M-20884

That the Parliament recognises the important work being done by Independent Advocacy Perth and Kinross (IAPK); notes that IAPK has been working to safeguard human rights since 1995, and has worked within the community to help individuals understand their choices and offer a range of support; considers that independent advocacy services are especially important for individuals who are more likely to be treated poorly, particularly as a result of structural barriers, discrimination and prejudice or because of their own vulnerability, and wishes IAPK every success as it continues its crucial work.
