  • Submitted by: Daniel Johnson, Edinburgh Southern, Scottish Labour
  • Date lodged: Friday, 13 February 2026
  • Motion type: Standard Motion
  • Motion reference: S6M-20800

That the Parliament recognises and commends what it sees as the life-changing work of Ewan Aitken over his 12 years as CEO of Cyrenians; celebrates in particular his role in doubling the size of the charity, greatly increasing the number of people that it supports and its influence on policy; acknowledges Ewan’s success in bringing the voice of lived experience to the policy table; believes that through Cyrenians' values of compassion, integrity, respect and innovation, he has demonstrated in action why the solutions to homelessness require a public health approach across the public, private and voluntary sectors, and sends Ewan its best wishes for what he goes on to do next, as he steps down from his role.
